FALL 2024 / SPRING 2025 AGE DIVISIONS

IMPORTANT: Your player stays in the SAME division throughout the Fall/ Spring season. Players are “aged” once per calendar year at the beginning of Fall season.  Ages are determined at that point and applied accordingly. When your player has a birthday during the playing year, he or she will not automatically move up until the following Fall.  We do not automatically move players up in the middle of the fall-spring season. Your player will remain in the same age division from fall through spring.

Age groups overlap either by three months for U5-U8, or six months for U10-U19. This allows players to play up one division, if they desire, (without LYSA board approval) to be able to play with their school classmates or if they prefer more challenge.

FIND YOUR CHILD’S BIRTH YEAR ON THE CHART TO DETERMINE WHICH AGE DIVISION THEY WILL BE PLACED IN:

Players born after August 31, 2021 are too young to play.

Players born prior to 2006 are too old to play.

U5 is a jamboree format with players meeting only once a week on Saturday mornings for about one hour at Monroe M.S.  This division is led/coached by an individual specifically trained to work with this age group and children who are new to soccer.  The activities are explicitly designed to be approachable by four-year-old players.  U5 players will participate in several fun game activities and then be divided into ad-hoc teams and play a couple short 3V3 soccer games.  Parent involvement is not only allowed but is strongly encouraged.  League t-shirts will be provided for each U5 player with the cost included in the registration fee.  No LYSA uniform kit will be required for U5 players. 

U6 and older players will be assigned specific teams that will practice during the week and play scheduled games on Saturday mornings at Petersen Park.  U6 and above players are required to purchase the LYSA uniform kit.
